We at Tooney Town are committed to preparing your little one
for primary grade school. This is why we feel that the
foundation for learning should be an enjoyable experience
for children of all ages. We have adopted several
educational resources. Combined, these resources are the
basis for our educational and fun curriculum. Tooney Town
uses
Hooked
on Phonics Reading, Math and Writing,
which has reported a 93% success rate, along with
Abeka,
High Reach,
Toddlers Together and The Comprehensive Infant & Toddler
Curriculum. Our Preschool 3, Preschool 4 and
Pre-Kindergarten programs use the Abeka curriculum along
with the creativity of the teacher. Our other programs use
the other curriculums listed above.
Tooney Town provides an environment that supports
self-esteem and learning. Our Cuddle Care curriculum
encourages infants and toddlers to “explore the world around
them, build vocabulary, small and large motor skills and
much more.” Our Twoddler Curriculum introduces basic
concepts and skills, including fine and gross motor skills,
through fascinating monthly themes that build a strong
foundation for early learning. Our Preschool
curriculum is designed to develop beginning readiness
skills. The Abeka curriculum that is used by our Pre-K class
is phonetically based and provides the necessary support for
the children to read fluently. All of our children are
exposed to subjects such as reading, math, science and
social studies. We use a combined approach using whole
language and phonological awareness to offer a well-rounded
literacy experience.
We offer a before and after school program for local
elementary schools. Our school age program exposes the
children to subjects such as public speaking, current
events, home studies, computer learning, arts & crafts,
science and geography. These children also have time for
Hooked on Phonics. Below you will find a list of monthly
themes that the entire center uses.
Welcome to the world of “High Reach, Abeka and Hooked on
Phonics” learning!!
